Who Is Civitan?

Founded in 1917, Civitan Clubs are made up of everyday citizens who come together in communtiies around the world to socialize, learn and serve their neighbors.  CIvitan has grown to over 40,000 members in dozens of countries, including youth and college programs.  On the international level, Civitan is devoted to improving the lives of children and adults with developmentla disabilities. 

 

The objective of the First Ladies Civitan Club of Jackson, MS is primarily the building of good citizenship.  Other important objectives of our club are:

Loyal support of out government in peace and war

The curbing of crime

Achievement of greater public safety

Promotion of national and international goodwill

Projects designed to teach youth the responsibilities of good citizenship

Aid to the mentally retarded and physically handicapped

Conservation of natural resources
