Our 2006 Commitment to WestCare Women and Children Campus
Although Civitan Accelerated is dedicated to improving southern Nevada through a different community service project each month, our members have also elected to make a 9-month commitment to the children of WestCare.
WestCare's 130 bed "Women and Children Campus" is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and is a safe haven for individuals who are seeking a healthy and productive lifestyle, free from the constraints of alcohol and drug abuse. www.westcare.com/slnevada.htm
For over 30 years, WestCare has been providing substance abuse and addiction treatment, homeless and runaway shelters, vocational counseling and mental health programs to adults, children, adolescents, and families.
By December 31, Civitan Accelerated is commited to providing at least 1,500 care packages for the minor (age 5-17) residents of WestCare.
Donations of the following are greatly appreciated:
pajamas
socks
underwear
brushes / combs
wash towels
dental hygiene products
