The Albertville Civitan Club was chartered as Club #74 of Civitan International on June 19, 1922. This charter process was initiated by a group of businessmen who wanted to better their community of Albertville in the years following World War I. The Clubs purpose is to promote education, service and fellowship. The motto of Civitan is "Builders of Good Citizenship." It's goal is the 'Golden Rule'. As stated in a 1947 edition of the 'Albertville Herald', the Albertville Civitan Club filled a vital role in the community of Albertville as a rallying place for various projects. You might say that the Club acted as the Chamber of Commerce! |
