CARDINAL DISTRICT AWARDS PROGRAM

Each year the Cardinal District recognizes clubs and individuals for the outstanding work that is completed during the Junior Civitan year.  All clubs do great things and should be recognized for their efforts.  However, if a club does not submit nominations, the hard work of the club and individuals will go unnoticed.  In addition, the awardees on the district level can be submitted on the International level for recognition at the annual Junior Civitan International Convention.  We have had clubs win international awards in past years so it is possible to receive International awards.

The nominations for the district awards must be submitted by March 15, 2011 to Jeanne Jarrett, District Chairperson, 104 Woodshire Place, Charleston, WV 25314.  An unbiased committee for selection will review nominations received by this date and awards will be presented at the district convention on April 2, 2011.

Each club is allowed to submit 1 nomination for each of the categories.  The nominations do not have to be extensive but should include the following:

Project Awards – date of event, how it benefited, man-hours involved (example:  10 people worked for 5 hours so that equals 50 man-hours.  Also include publicity received, a brief description of the project, and a statement why the club feels the project should be selected.

Individual Awards – nomination should be for work done in the 2010-2011 year only.  Include the person’s name, details about what the person has done as an individual that make them outstanding in comparison to others in the club or in the nomination for officers some details on what they did to make the club successful.

The categories are on a separate document.
