Dyersburg Civitan Club

Fruit Cake Sales support Civitan Projects

The Dyersburg Civitan Club is just one of hundreds of Civitan clubs who sell over a million pounds of Claxton Fruit Cake each year.

It all began in the 1950s when the Civitan Club of Tampa, Florida approached Claxton Bakery about a possible fruitcake fundraiser.

The club was so successful with the project that other Civitan clubs soon joined them, and now the sweet holiday treat is sold throughout the United States and Canada to fund local community service projects.

The delicious Claxton Fruitcakes sell for $4.00 each and make wonderful gifts for the holidays.

You can buy yours from any Dyersburg Civitan member.

Local Civitan clubs meet a wide variety of needs in their communities, with an emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities.

The Civitan International Foundation continues this mission with a $20 million dollar commitment to its flagship project, the Civitan International Research Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
