| Civitan Club of Greensboro |
Chartered in 1921, this is the oldest Civitan Club in Eastern North Carolina. We have a weekly luncheon meeting at
the Painted Plate on North Church Street in Greensboro. |
| The Civitan Club of Greensboro meets every Friday at the Painted Plate for lunch with a program that consists of a speaker from the community. These speakers tell us about many different subjects such as politics, business, health issues, personal issues, community activities and educational activities. They pretty much cover the life of Greensboro, Guilford County and the World. "Builders of Good Citizenship" is the Civitan motto and we take it seriously. |
| Our volunteer activies include active support of the local Special Olympics and giving a Christmas Party for the Special Needs kids at McIver School. Perhaps the highlite of the year for us is our "Best Citizens Award" luncheon given in the Spring to a boy and a girl from each of the highschools in Guilford County. This vital program is over 56 years old. A Souther Scholarship is given to two of these Best Citizens every year. We also sponsor a youth baseball team here in Greensboro |
