Great Southwest District Foundation

Who We Are

What is the Foundation?

The Great Southwest District Foundation is a tax-exempt, 501(c)3, arm of the Great Southwest Civitan District. We administer a scholarship for college students interested in special education called the Ab Irvine Scholarship; we are re-establishing an essay contest for high school juniors and seniors called the Rozier Sanchez Essay Contest, which is planned to be set for spring or summer of 2011; and will be re-establishing a weekend seminar for high school students to give them an idea of some skills they will need to make sound choices for their future, the date for this is to be determined.

Who are the Foundation Members?

You are!  If you are a member of one of the Great Southwest District Civitan Clubs.

Every Member of the Great Southwest Civitan District is the Foundation and we could not and can not do it without each and evry member of the district.

We depend on every member and every club to help by participating in the fundraisers and by contributing to the projects the Foundation is working on for the betterment of the High School and College Students in the District, by providing programs and scholarships to help them acheive their goals and become members of the current and future support systems and research teams for people with disabilities.

Keep checking back to see final dates on our projects and for more projects and activities to come in the months and years ahead.
