Youth Citizenship Seminar
 
What is the Objective of the Youth Citizenship Seminar?
 
The Youth Citizenship Seminar is a two-day event that has been held at Hummingbird Music Camp in the Jemez area in New Mexico for the last few years. This seminar is open to high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors from the GSWC district. Students are given the opportunity to learn about various careers and participate in hands-on exercises. They are encouraged to make new acquaintances and develop interpersonal skills as well has enjoy various outdoor activities during their time outside of the seminars. This seminar, including transportation, lodging, and food is entirely funded by the Foundation and is free for the attendees.
 
 
Who Can Attend?
 
All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors in high school in the district area (that includes all of Colorado and New Mexico and the El Paso area of Texas) are invited to join in the seminar. The attendance is limited to the first students to get their applications in after the seminar details have been arranged and the announcements have been released.

The seminar is usually held in late April or early May and applications first are available around February. Keep an eye on this site for the details of the seminar and how to obtain applications.
