The Hartselle Civitan Club was chartered on June 20, 1955 as a service organization for the City of Hartselle and the surrounding areas in Morgan County by Civitan International. We currently still have one of our original charter members.
The club members meet on the first and third Mondays of each month at the Hartselle Medical Center Cafeteria at 6:00 P.M. to share fellowship, a meal, and their ideas on community involvement.
By holding various fund raising events, the club members provide services and help within the community which members feel help improve the quality of life for residents ot the area.
The Hartselle Civitan CLub is involved in or provides:
Hartselle High School Scholarship(s), Hartselle High and Junior High School Essay Contest and Award, HHS Student of the Year Awards, Sending Student(s) to Leadership Training in Searcy, Arkansas, Providing American Flags for Hartselle's "Avenue of Flags" display on Highway 31, Building a Project Funds to purchase a Platform Wheel Chair Swing for Sparkman Park, Candy Box Sales to raise money for the Mentally Handicapped in our area and for the Research Center in Birmingham, and Annual Fruit Cake Sales at Christmas and Birthday Calendar with Football Schedule in the Fall.
Every member, new or old, is encouraged to bring their ideas to the meetings to share and discuss. New members are also encouraged to get involved with committees and in as many projects as their schedules permit.
If you are interested in visiting a meeting to see what we are about, please give us a call.
