| Meetings |
The Hopkinsville Civitan Club meets every month on the second and fourth Thursdays at the Holiday Inn in Hopkinsville. Meetings begin with dinner at 6:30 pm.
All are welcome to join us. Membership is open to all persons, male or female, of good character and reputation, who are at least 18 years of age.
Our Hopkinsville club is a part of Civitan International. Civitans seek out community needs and work to fulfill them. Civitans pioneered assistance to the mentally retarded, and have organized and funded many outstanding programs for developmentally disabled individuals.
Locally, our club participates in several projects throughout the year, assisting both the International causes and local groups and charities. |

Culminating nearly 50 years of helping people challenged by mental disabilities, Civitan International Foundation members awarded a grant of up to one million dollars a year for 20 years to The University of
Alabama at Birmingham to support development of the Civitan International
Research Center. This generous act by Civitan, a major volunteer service organization, made it possible for exceptional human, financial, and technical resources to focus on developmental disabilities.
