Fundraisers - It is that time of year to start selling onions, again! The price remains the same as years past. They are $10.00 for one 10 pound bag. People are always anxious to receive their Vidalia onions delivered directly from Vidalia, GA. We sold 1,200 pounds of onions this year. The extra onions we bought were sold in record time before the onions even arrived.
We are active participants in Civitan fundraisers. The Vidalia onions are a great way to help get our name out to others. The Claxton Fruitcake sale is also popular to help raise money. Citizens from all over anxiously await for the products to go on sell.

The Jasper Club also recognizes individuals or families for our Yard of the Month. Each month a yard is chosen mainly by referrals from the community. Each recipient who is awarded the Yard of the Month has their picture advertised in the local city and county newspaper and keeps the Civitan Yard of the Month sign proudly displayed in their yard throughout that month for all to see. This has been a local favorite award for our area!
Special Olympics
Special Olympics is coming up and is sponsored by the KiwanisClub. Other organizations come together to help with this event. We are looking forward to participating again this year. It is such a joy to see these children being presented with their ribbons for an excellent job done!
Mike & Nancy Izzi recevied the Civitan Club's Yard of the Month for May. Their well-kept yard consists of gardenias, azaleas, day lilies, candy tuff, knock-out roses and crepe myrtles. Even with health issues to consider, they still find time to enjoy working in their yard and it is worth it!
