CIVITAN OF THE YEAR
For the second time since joining our club David McKoy has been selected "Civitan of the Year". He was first selected Civitan of the Year 2000-2001 and awarded the Dr. Lee Rogers Humanitarian Award the same year. David has played a key role in virtually every project undertaken by Marietta Civitan in recent years. In additional to serving as president of our club David also serves as; Vice-Chairman of the Board for the National Young Marines Youth Program, Washington, DC.; Cobb County March of Dimes committee; Cobb Underage Drinking Task Force; Kids Vote Georgia; Community Advisor for CASA; Former Commanding Officer of the Gen. Raymond Davis Metro-Atlanta Young Marines; Greater Atlanta Marine Corps Coordinating Council; and the Greater Atlanta Marine Corps League.

CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
The Marietta Civitan Club named Bob Elsberry as its Citizen of the Year. Bob has played a lead role in the Marietta Civitan Club and many other worthy causes through the years. As chairman of the annual Marietta Civitan Golf Tournament, he has helped raise thousands of dollars to support the club's activities. He also served as Marietta Civitan Club's President in 1983-84. In 1997, the Civitan Club's Georgia District North Honored Bob with its Dr. Lee Rogers Humanitarian Award "for his devotion to the welfare of all persons in his community.
A 1989 graduate of Leadership Cobb, he co-chaired the 1995 Class of Leadership Cobb. Bob has also served as Past President of the board of the Center for Children & Young Adults, Inc.; Past Chair of the Board of Cobb Family Resources; and Past Chairman of the Marietta Division of Cobb Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Bob remains active in local activities of University of Georgia, which honored him in 1994 with the prestigious Dan Magill Award for "loyalty, dedication and commitment to the Bulldogs and the University of Georgia." |
