The Civitan Club of Martinsburg was founded in 1964 by a group of civic minded, public spirited citizens who obtained a charter from Civitan International to carry forward in our community the purpose, goals and ideas of this world-wide organization.
Club Vision: The vision of the Martinsburg Civitan Club is to provide hands on community service projects and give financial support to projects benefiting people with develomental disabilities, to give area businesses the opportunity to encourage employee volunteerism and to extend their corporate community involvement.
We meet on the first and third tuesday of each month for dinner and fellowship. The first meeting is a business meeting where we discuss our various projects, raising funds, and other club matters. The second is a social meeting where we enjoy good fellowship and improve our knowledge by listening to speakers on various subjects.

Civitan's Logo
Although the logo of Civitan has changed a few times over the years, it has significant points that have remained constant.
The gold color represents purity of highly refined metal, indicative of those who would volunteer their time.
The blue is a regal color that, together with the gold, has become symbolic of many service club organizations, dating back to the early part of this century.
The "C" surrounding the globe represents Civitan service around the world.
The 12 highlights around the emblem represents the 12 point of The Civitan Creed |
