The Ozark District, Civitan International, has a rich and noteworthy history. Originally the Central District, Civitan International, consisting of Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas, the Central District of Civitan International was reorganized on July 1, 1958, with Oklahoma-Kansas becoming the O-K District, and Arkansas-Missouri becoming the Ozark District.
The Ozark District started with ten clubs, grew to 21 clubs and now has 17 active clubs with five Junior Civitan clubs, and two Campus Civitan clubs. Nine of the original ten clubs are still represented to as of the present day.
Another reorganization is currently underway that will merge the three districts together into one new district comprised of four states: Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Please visit our site again as we go through the merger process to find out more about the many wonderful things Civitans are doing in each of these states.
