Pensacola Civitan Scholarship
The Pensacola Civitan Club offers one (1) $1,000.00 scholarship to a college bound high school student. Each area high school is eligible to sumbit one senior student's name with a completed club scholarship application. A panel of non-Civitan judges review and score the applications.
Points are given in four areas; Service to your school, Service to your community, Service to your local or state government, and Service to a religious activity. The winner is selected and the $1,000.00 scholarship is sent to a university or college of the student's choice. The winning student's application is then forwarded to a District Competition for $1,000.00.
John Simpson Scholarship Competition
This is a scholarship competition of the Alabama-West Florida Civitan District. The winning student from the Pensacola Civitan Club's competition is eligible for this second competition. Again, the students in the John Simpson Scholarship Competition are judged in four areas of service and compete for a $1,000.00 scholarship. The winning student and his/her parents are invited to a spring district wide meeting of the District for recognition. The $1,000.00 scholarship is sent to a university or college of the student's choice. |
