Civitan promotes service, knowledge, and fellowship Our focus on service is shown by the many community projects we have accomplished, including building parks, building a Habitat for Humanity house, publicly recognizing good sportmanship and good samaritans, helping fund worthy causes through other organizations, and many more (see the Projects page for examples). We emphasize knowledge to keep our members informed about our community and to provide lifelong learning. Our programs range from civic issues addressed by local government, charitable, and media leaders to personal and professional development. Our Civi-Gram newsletter and website tell members and the public about Roanoke Civitan news, activities and events. We provide fellowship through our many opportunities to socialize, meet new friends, and enjoy old friends. We get together throughout the Civitan year for club meetings, service projects, sports and cultural events, holiday celebrations, picnics, and district meetings. |
