Angels Unaware, Inc - "is a non-profit, charitable organization that is dedicated to providing quality professional residential care facilities and services for the severe and profoundly developmentally disabled of Tampa. Angels Unaware has been serving the developmentally disabled in Tampa since 1973 and currently operates eight group homes and supported living services. Our mission is to provide opportunities for our residents to achieve their full potential, exercise their independence and enjoy an enhanced quality of life to the fullest."
Since 1984, the Tampa Metro Civitan Club has helped to support 2 of the 8 Angels' houses, providing assistance with the upkeep of the homes, holiday parties and presents for the residents (and the homes too). Our club has been fortunate enough to build the theraputic pool at Angels 2, paint both houses as needed, and build the wheelchair ramps and patio at Angels 6 among other upkeep and access chores. We are so lucky to be a part of the lives of such wonderful Angels...and they really are Angels. |
